Inquisivi Councilwoman Assassinated
Celia Silus Muni, an Inquisivi councilwoman, was run over by a vehicle and killed on an unknown date (López Rossel and Quisbert Carvajal 2017), prior to the May 2012 Law on Political Harrassment and Violence (Agencia de Noticias Fides 2016). It is reported that Muni had informed her council of the harassment and threats of violence, however, no action was taken (Gonzales 2016) There have been no persons charged with Muni’s death. This incident preceded several killing of several female politicians who are reported to also have been subject to sex-based harassment and violence (Gonzales 2016).
